"Market of antiques and
collection
objects":
it takes place in the
historical centre every first
week-end of the
month.
“Estate a
Ferrara”:
open-air theatre and
live concerts during summer in
Ferrara (from May-June until
September)
“Ferrara sotto le
stelle”:
special events and
concerts (during the month of
July)
"Ferrara Busker's
Festival":
international event that
gathers together musicians
from every part of the world.

"Festival of the
bluefish": located in:
via Bologna, during the second
or third decade of
September.
"The Estense
week": 32nd
edition of the event during
the third week of September.
“Vulandra”:
annual edition
of International Festival/meeting of
the kites ( city park, third

"St. George's
fair": market, stalls
and amusement park
(“Montagnone” park,

“Mille Miglia”:
new edition of the famous
competition of old cars (14th
May
2009).
The “Palio of
Ferrara”:
Blessing of the flags
(“palii”) and offering of
candles.
(4th May
2009).
Competition of the old
games of the “Estense
flags”: you can see the
games that the Estense family
used to do in the past. There
are team games, single games,
acrobatic games and also
musicians. You can admire the
ability of the boys moving the
flags who practised the whole
year to “do their best” in
this occasion (11th
and 12th of May
2009)
Historical procession of
the flags (“palii”):
hundred of boys and girls
taking part to the
manifestation, are lined up in
front of the Dukes for the
enrolment ceremony of the
eight groups of flags like
during the Renaissance period.
After that a parade takes
place with a solemn and
colourful historical
procession of musicians,
drummers and other boys moving
the flags (18th of
May 2009).
The “Palio”. The
world-oldest game. The
eight groups fight for a
“Palio”, a valuable cloth that
the Estense Court used to give
to the winners of the games.
Piazza Ariostea becomes a
closed race-course for the run
of the “putti”, the boys, and
the “putte”, the girls.
Following you can see the
competition of the asses and
the horse race. The flag of
St. George is the prize for
the most skilled and rashest

“Arts and
Events”:tourist fair of
100 art cities of Italy (May
2009).
